A&O project finance lawyer off to Berwin

Berwin Leighton Paisner added Nomita Nair to its Singapore practice. She joined the law firm from Allen & Overy.

Law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has hired Nomita Nair, a Singapore project finance attorney with a decade of experience in energy, according to a statement.

BLP said appointing Nair underscored its effort to “develop strong infrastructure, energy and oil and gas capability on a global scale,” while going on to note that the firm has added four senior level people to its Singapore site in 2012.

Nair, who worked for Allen & Overy prior to signing on with BLP, is particularly established in liquefied natural gas (LNG). She had been based in London. Aside from her 10-year stint with Allen & Overy, Nair has worked as legal advisor, on secondment, with HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank.

The firm characterised its Singapore operation as “strong” in renewable energy.
