BBPI Europe hires alternatives head

Juergen Bohn has been appointed to lead the alternative investments business of BBPI Europe, the European project investments arm of developer Bilfinger Berger. Based in Germany, Bohn will report to UK-based managing director Martin Pugh.

BBPI Europe – the European arm of Bilfinger Berger Project Investments – has appointed Juergen Bohn as head of its alternative investments business. A statement said this was part of the company’s drive to target alternative investments in Europe.

The statement added that Bohn would focus “in the short to medium term on developing renewable energy projects and delivering non-core infrastructure for private industrial and power clients”.

Described in the statement as a renewable energy specialist, Bohn was previously at renewable energy developer juwi Bio, where he was general manager for the German bio-energy sector. While there, he developed a range of turnkey CHP (combined heat and power), biomass and biogas facilities.

Based in Wiesbaden, Germany, Bohn will report to Martin Pugh, the UK-based managing director of BBPI Europe.

BBPI is the public-private partnership (PPP) division of German developer Bilfinger Berger. It has a portfolio of developments in transport, health, education, custodial and emergency services.
