Boom time for IFM Investors

Dan Vanden Boom has joined the Melbourne-based fund manager from Morgan Stanley as director of business development in Australia.

As IFM ramps up its marketing activities in Asia, Dan Vanden Boom has joined as director of business development in Australia from Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Vanden Boom will report to Eddy Schipper, IFM’s executive director of business development who moved to Japan at the start of this year to build IFM’s offering to Asian clients.

The move into Japan was part of IFM’s strategy of global expansion which also led it to open an office in Berlin last year.

At the time of the Tokyo move, IFM chief executive Brett Himbury said: “Under Eddy’s leadership, we will hire an initial team and also work closely with Japanese regulators and institutional investors to align our model with market needs and practices.”

“It really is a very exciting time for IFM Investors and it’s great Dan will be a part of that,” said Schipper, commenting on Vanden Boom’s appointment.

Vanden Boom will be based in Melbourne and will start his new role in May.
