Ohio Police & Fire approves $75m commitment

The US public pension has backed iCON Infrastructures fifth flagship fund.

Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund has agreed to commit up to $75 million to iCON Infrastructure Partners V, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor.

The fund will focus on acquiring a diversified portfolio of middle-market core, core-plus and value-add infrastructure assets and asset-backed companies located predominantly in North America and Europe.

The $15.97 billion US public pension has an 8.0 percent target allocation to real assets that currently stands at 3.0 percent. Ohio Poice & Fire’s infrastructure commitments are made out of its real assets portfolio.

As illustrated below, Ohio Police & Fire’s last five commitments have been to infrastructure funds targeting a diverse range of sectors. Each of these vehicles are somewhat related however, in that they all contain North America within their regional remits.
