Project finance hire for Chadbourne Warsaw office

The Warsaw, Poland office of Chadbourne & Parke has named Przemyslaw Kalek international partner. He has a background in project finance and particular expertise in energy infrastructure.

The Warsaw, Poland branch of internationally established law firm Chadbourne & Parke has hired a home-grown project finance attorney with a strong background in energy infrastructure, according to a press statement.

Przemyslaw Kalek, described by Chadbourne as familiar with both regional and international energy law, has been appointed international partner, the firm said, adding Kalek is versed in project financing and privatisation.

Before taking a job with Chadbourne, Kalek worked for Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak (SK&S), a 21-year-old Warsaw-headquartered firm. There, he co-headed the SK&S energy practice.

US-based Chadbourne, a 110-year-old institution, established its Warsaw office in 1990. Executive director Igor Muszynski is head of energy and project finance for Chadbourne in Poland.

In Europe, Poland is being touted as an up-and-coming public-private partnership (PPP) market, with the public sector turning to private capital in an effort to modernise its infrastructure.
