Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois approved up to $276 million in infrastructure commitments at its March Board meeting, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor.

The commitments are made up of €200 million ($226 million) to Macquarie European Infrastructure 6 and $50 million to Grain Communications Opportunity Fund II.

The $51.13 billion US public pension tends to target infrastructure funds focusing on unlisted equity investments into telecoms, transport, renewables and utilities.
