TRS Texas approves $250m commitment

The US public pension has backed a North American infrastructure fund.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas has agreed to commit $250 million to BIS Brazos Infrastructure Fund managed by BlackRock, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor.

The $148.08 billion US public pension has a 6.0 percent target allocation to infrastructure that currently stands at 5.5 percent.

As illustrated below, the pension fund’s recent commitments are to funds focused on the industrial, telecommunications, energy, transport and renewables sectors within the North America and Europe regions.
