US-based public pension commits $100 million to Europe- and North America-focused infrastructure fund.

Institution: Indiana Public Retirement System
Headquarters: Indiana, US
AUM: $45.28 billion
Allocation to Infrastructure: 0.4%

Indiana Public Retirement System committed $100 million to iCON Infrastructure Partners VI this summer, according to a board meeting earlier this month.

The commitment was a newly established investment relationship between Indiana and iCON Infrastructure.

The asset manager’s sixth fund raised $3.6 billion at final close from pension funds, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies from Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. iCON Infrastructure Partners VI will focus on small to medium-sized core or core-plus infrastructure assets across Europe and North America.

As illustrated below, Indiana PRS currently allocates 0.4 percent of its investment portfolio to infrastructure. It commits capital globally, though their recent fund commitments have been predominately focused within North America.
