Spain’s stock market regulator waves through Citi’s toll-road deal(2)

The Spanish body charged with protecting investors’ interests in public companies has given the green light to Citi Infrastructure Investors’ acquisition of toll-road operator Itenere.

The Spanish stock market regulator, Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), has waved through Citi Infrastructure Partners’ acquisition of Itenere Infraestructuras.

In a statement today the CNMV said it had approved the transaction.

The acquisition is important because the deal provides a platform for Citi to invest in toll road companies in developed European countries.

Citi announced details of the deal in December to acquire 51.7 percent of Itinere from Sacyr Vallehermoso.
