State Universities Retirement System of Illinois confirmed a commitment of $50 million to Ember Infrastructure I at its June 2021 board meeting, according to a press release on the pension’s website.
First-time manager Ember Infrastructure launched its debut fund in March 2020 with a $500 million equity capital target. As of 30 June, 20 percent of that target had been raised from investors.
The $23.33 billion US public pension has a 1 percent target allocation to infrastructure that currently stands at 0.4 percent.
