Access Capital UK, Europe head named

Company veteran Stephen Burns is appointed replacement for outgoing Toby Buscombe. Burns, who will head European infrastructure, began working for the Aasset manager in 2003.

Access Capital Advisers has named Stephen Burns head of its UK and Europe office, the company said.

His appointment made Burns head of infrastructure in Europe and is a result of the departure of Toby Buscombe. Buscombe left Access to take a role with consultant Mercer, according to Access.

Located primarily in Australia, Access is an asset manager specializing in infrastructure.

In August, Access advised a deal in which Prime Super, an A$1 billion (€747 million; $1 billion) pension fund, acquired a 20.8 percent stake in International Parking Group (IPG), the operator of nine hospital car parks in New South Wales and Queensland.

Burns has worked with Access since 2003, the company said, and has been a member of the UK and Europe infrastructure team since 2009.

Prior to his work in UK and Europe, Burns worked in Australia, focusing on infrastructure. He will be based in London.

Access Capital Advisers currently has A$12 billion under management, with A$6.36 billion (53 percent) of this allocated to infrastructure (see InfrastructureConnect).
