Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has recently outlined its infrastructure pacing plan for the next 12 months to Infrastructure Investor.

Highlights included:

  • For the next 12 months, their investment strategy involves making direct and indirect equity investments in infrastructure and other productive sectors.
  • Their strategy includes engaging in equity investments through externally managed funds, as well as through pooled investment vehicles such as private equity funds. The bank may also engage in co-investments with investee funds.
  • AIIB will have a global focus with a specific focus on Asia. Their sector focus will include Traditional Infrastructure (Energy, Transport, Urban, Water), Social Infrastructure (Education, Healthcare), Digital Infrastructure, Financial Sector and OPS.
  • The bank plans to commit around $2.2 billion for the next 12 months.
  • They will consider first time funds. They do not plan to buy or sell stakes on the secondaries market.
