Antin bolsters operational team

Alex Kesseler, Antin’s third senior recruit in recent months, joins at a time when the fund manager is deploying its freshly raised Fund II.

Antin Infrastructure Partners has hired Alex Kesseler as a performance improvement principal.

Kesseler joins the Paris and London-based fund manager from French buyout firm PAI Partners, where he was a principal in the portfolio performance group for seven years. He started in his new role at Antin at the beginning of the week.

Prior to PAI, Kesseler was a partner at European consulting firm Roland Berger in Paris where he led the private equity group of the “operations strategy” department for six years. He was previously senior manager at A.T. Kearney, a US consulting firm, in Munich, Paris and New York.

Kesseler’s new role will focus on improving operational performance at portfolio companies, in co-operation with Antin’s investment team and portfolio company management.

His appointment follows the hire of Simon Soder and Mehdi Azizi, who respectively joined from Australia’s Macquarie Capital and US bank Goldman Sachs, as investment directors in late 2014.

Antin is currently deploying its Fund II, which reached its final close on €2 billion last June.
