Ashurst boosts US infra team with new hire

Partner Vincent Casey is the law firm’s second major infrastructure hire after Andrew Fraiser joined earlier this month.

Law firm Ashurst has hired Vincent Casey as a partner in its New York infrastructure team, as it seeks to take advantage of growing opportunities in the US.

Casey joins in a newly created role from his position as partner at law firm Nixon Peabody, where he has focused on infrastructure project finance and public-private partnerships.

His experience stretches across a range of infrastructure sectors including renewables, transport and social infrastructure. He worked on the Long Beach Civic Center project financing, which in April became the first social infrastructure project in the US to be financed using a taxable private placement solution.

Casey said there is “a unique opportunity” in the market for Ashurst to become the top infrastructure law firm in the US.

His appointment comes just weeks after Andrew Fraiser joined Ashurst from Allen and Overy to lead the firm’s infrastructure division.
