DONG hires wind power specialist

Marie de Graaf, who co-founded the Green Giraffe renewable advisory firm and led ABN Amro Bank’s renewable energy team, will serve as head of partner relations.

Danish developer DONG Energy has added a new head of partner relations to its wind power team.

Marie de Graaf, who previously worked as the head of renewable energy at ABN Amro Bank in Amsterdam, will serve as a first point of contact for investors considering DONG’s offshore wind assets, the firm said.

De Graaf joined ABN Amro in February 2016. Previously, in 2010, she co-founded Green Giraffe, an advisory boutique focused on renewables with offices in Hamburg, London, Paris and Utrecht, Netherlands. Green Giraffe advised on projects including the 600MW Gemini offshore wind project in the Netherlands.

The largest energy producer in Denmark, DONG has said it aims to shift towards renewable production. Earlier this month, DONG made waves when two of its zero-subsidy bids for offshore wind farms in the German North Sea were accepted by the country’s infrastructure regulator, marking a milestone in the sector. DONG also announced in January that it had invested in Taiwan’s Formosa I wind project.
