Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners, the Paris-based venture capital arm of Edmond de Rothschild Group, has held a first and final close of venture capital fund Winch Capital.
Winch Capital has closed on €165 million ($198 million), just above its original target of €150 million set when the firm began marketing the fund four months ago, according to a release.
Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners was not immediately available for comment.
The fund will make venture capital investments in French companies generating a turnover of between €15 million and €150 million.
In November 2005, Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners led a $17.5 million second rounding funding for Belgium-based biotechnology company OncoMethylomeSciences alongside ING Belgium, Life Sciences Partners, PolyTechnos Venture-Partners, Meusinvest and Technowal.
Last June, the firm and Barclays Private Equity France announced that they had sold an 82 percent stake in French containment equipment manufacturer La Calhène to Swedish medical equipment maker Getinge.
Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners, formerly known as LCF Rothschild Venture Partners, currently manages over €200 million in funds dedicated to the information technology and life sciences sectors in Europe, with a specific focus on France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Edmond de Rothschild VC fund raises €165m
The venture capital arm of the French private investment house has held a first and final close of its latest venture capital vehicle after four months of fundraising.
