Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has approved $450 million-worth of infrastructure fund commitments, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor.
The commitments comprise of $250 million to Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV and $200 million to Strategic Partners Infrastructure III. The latter vehicle is managed by Blackstone’s specialist secondaries unit, and takes its strategy from its predecessor fund Strategic Partners Real Assets II.
The $50.50 billion US public pension’s infrastructure allocation lies within its 16.0 percent real assets portfolio.
