Bastion Infrastructure Group has hired Aquila Infrastructure Management co-founder Anne Marie Stetler in the midst of raising a $2 billion fund.
Bastion has brought Stetler aboard to work on fundraising, naming her director of investor relations (IR). Ron Lepin, who launched Bastion in the summer of 2012, said Stetler would also help to develop its co-investment programme.
Lepin declined to comment about fundraising, but Infrastructure Investor has learned the asset manager is targeting $2 billion for an OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) vehicle.
Stetler co-founded infrastructure investor Aquila, serving as head of asset management. From 2005 until 2009 – when she helped set up Aquila – she worked for Macquarie Group. Stetler began her financial services career with Ernst & Young.
Stetler is the latest executive hire for Toronto-headquartered Bastion. In June, Wael Elkhouly joined the firm from EISER Infrastructure Partners. Earlier in 2013, long-time Cintra and Ferrovial executive Enrique Fuentes became a Bastion partner.
Lepin made a name for himself with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) and Morgan Stanley Infrastructure (MSI).
