26 July

Cathay Life Insurance told PEI that it will invest over $50 million to infrastructure and real estate funds over the next 12 months.


25 July

Public Sector Pension Investment Board’s strong returns in real estate, infrastructure and natural resources were partially offset by lower returns in private equity and negative returns in public markets in fiscal year 2016.

 

22 July

China Investment Corporation(CIC) has named Tu Guangshao as the company's new Vice Chairman and President, replacing Li Keping. CIC also announced Liu Guiping no longer serves as Executive Vice President.


21 July

European Investment Bank is considering a commitment of €50 million to Eiffel Energy Transition Fund, which is trying to raise €150 million to invest in small renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

 

20 July

University of Michigan has committed $25 million to Yorktown Energy Partners XI. The fund based in New York will continue the team’s strategy of making private equity investments in a broad range of energy companies.

 

18 July

IFM Investors has expanded its US infrastructure debt team by hiring Joseph Braun who joins from Hastings at a time when IFM is raising its debut North America-focused debt vehicle.

 

14 July 

California Public Employees Retirement System has named Marcie Frost as its new Chief Investment Officer. Ms. Frost will start on October 3rd. She replaces Anne Stausboll who retired at the end of June. 

National Pension Service of Korea (NPS) has appointed Young Sig Yang the head of investment strategy and Sang Hyun Yoo the head of global alternative division.

 

12 July

Pension Fund Association for Local Government Officials (Chikyoren) has appointed JP Morgan Asset Management as the chosen mandate to manage its overseas infrastructure investments.


8 July

Partners Group is going to open a services hub in Manila to expand its Asian presence in September 2016. The office will be located in Bonifacio Global City business district.

 

7 July

New York State Common Retirement Fund has committed $300 million to Brookfield Infrastructure Fund III. No placement agents were involved in this transaction.

 

6 July

PSP Investments told PEI that its managing director for infrastructure investment, Patrick Charbonneau, will relocate and form an infrastructure team in London office to expand its presence in the region.


5 July

AP Fonden 1 and BAE Systems have backed Resonance Asset Management's Industrial Water Infrastructure Fund, which recently reached the third close at $300 million.


4 July

Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System approved a commitment of $75 million to EMR Capital Resources Fund II at the June 24 Investments Committee meeting.

 

1 July

Indiana Public Retirement System has named Scott Davis as its new Chief Investment Officer and Bo Ramsey as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer. Davis had served as interim CIO since September 2015.
