Natixis hires new head of loan syndication

The French bank has hired Monique Palumbo from Union Bank to head loan syndication for the Americas.

French bank Natixis has chosen Monique Palumbo to head loan syndication for the Americas as managing director, with a focus on project finance, the company said in a statement last Thursday.

Palumbo will report to Andrew Schaeffer, head of the US Credit Platform, at Natixis Wholesale Banking Americas.

“We are excited to have Monique, who is an experienced and highly regarded professional, join our strong team,” head of global markets Americas Denis Prouteau said in a statement.

Palumbo brings more than 20 years of experience to her new role, syndicating US domestic and international project finance and structured credits. She joins Natixis from Union Bank of California, where she served as senior vice president and group head of syndications and placements.

In addition to wholesale banking, Natixis’ two other main business lines are investment solutions and specialised financial services. Its parent company, Groupe BPCE, is France’s second-largest banking group.
