NESPF slashes infrastructure allocation

The Aberdeen-based public pension has more than halved its exposure to the asset class.

Institution: North East Scotland Pension Fund
Headquarters: Aberdeen, United Kingdom
AUM: £4.50bn
Allocation to alternatives: 6.0%
Bitesize: £50-100m

North East Scotland Pension Fund (NESPF) has decreased its infrastructure allocation from 2.5 percent in Q1 2018 to 1.0 percent in Q1 2019, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor. This decrease means that NESPF’s exposure to infrastructure is now less than half what it was one year ago.

As illustrated in the charts below, the £4.50 billion public pension’s last commitment to an infrastructure fund was £100 million to 2016 vintage Hermes Infrastructure Fund II.
