Palisade expands infrastructure investment team

Palisade Investment Partners, an Australian manager of unlisted infrastructure, has appointed two more investment managers to its team, taking the total number to seven. The appointment coincides with Palisade’s recent success in raising capital from institutional investors.

Australian infrastructure manager Palisade Investment Partners has expanded its investment team with the appointment of two more investment managers, taking the total number to seven.

The appointment of Julian Widdup and Jane Watson as investment managers follows Palisade’s recent success in raising substantial capital from institutional investors, according to a statement issued by the company.

Widdup, who was previously a partner and head of investments at Access Capital Advisers, will be primarily responsible for portfolio construction and management of Palisade’s Diversified Infrastructure Funds.

Watson will focus on Palisade’s Regional Infrastructure Fund, which includes infrastructure investments in the agricultural supply chain. Previously, she worked as an asset manager at the Australian Agribusiness Group.

Ian Mitchell, managing director of Palisade, said in a statement the appointments reflect growing demand from institutional investors for independent infrastructure expertise.

As a result of its successful fundraising among institutional investors, Palisade will progressively acquire a range of infrastructure assets with long duration and inflation-linked, reliable and growing cash flows, the firm said.

Palisade is an Australian infrastructure investment manager that is majority owned by its directors and staff, with minority ownership and support provided by Pinnacle Investment Management. It acquires and actively manages high quality unlisted infrastructure assets for its flagship funds, the Diversified Infrastructure Fund and Regional Infrastructure Fund, as well as for its separately managed account clients.
