Robert Collins joins Hastings in NY

Robert Collins will head Hastings’ global investment group in North America starting December 2.

Robert Collins will join Hastings Funds Management, the Australia-headquartered fund manager, as executive director, head of global investment in North America, effective from December 2.

In his new role, he will report to Peter Taylor, executive director and global head of global investment.

In addition to leading the North American global investment team, Collins will also lead Hastings’ equity investment activities in the region. He will also complement the company’s infrastructure debt team and Hastings’ business development activities in the institutional investor market, according to a statement.

Collins has extensive infrastructure investment experience having served most recently as managing director, head of infrastructure Americas at investment bank Greenhill & Company, where he advised on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, financings, and capital raising. Prior to Greenhill, Collins held a similar position at Morgan Stanley.

“Rob’s arrival is a reflection of our continued focus on the North American market,” Hastings chief executive Andrew Day said. “His leadership, extensive origination experience and market relationships will enable us to deepen our presence and identify attractive local investment opportunities in all key infrastructure asset classes,” he added.

Collins will also serve on the company’s Global Executive Leadership Team and its Equity Investment Committee. He will be based in New York.
