SBCERS approves $60m in commitments

The US public pension has established two new manager relationships.

Santa Barbara County Employees’ Retirement System has committed $60 million across four private infrastructure vehicles, according to the pension’s quarterly private real return report.

The commitments comprised $15 million each to Sustainable Asset Fund III, Asterion Industrial Infra Fund II, KKR Global Infrastructure Investors IV and Melody Communications Infrastructure Fund II.

The commitments made to Sustainable Asset Fund III and Melody Communications Infrastructure Fund II, managed by Vision Ridge Partners and Melody Capital Management, represent new manager relationships.

The pension is on course to reach its targeted commitment based on its strategic plan, as previously reported by Infrastructure Investor.

As illustrated below, the pension’s recent private infrastructure commitments have focused globally across different sectors. SBCERS currently allocates 5.22 percent of its full investment portfolio to private infrastructure.
