Senior debt executive leaves AMP

Gerry Jennings, a principal in AMP Capital’s infrastructure debt team, has left the business after nine years.

After nine years at Sydney-headquartered fund manager AMP Capital, Gerry Jennings is leaving the firm’s infrastructure debt team to pursue another opportunity. The nature of the opportunity is not yet known.

London-based Jennings was a principal in the global infrastructure debt team.

A spokesperson for AMP Capital said that Richard Lane, also a principal in the London infrastructure debt team, would assume Jennings’ responsibilities and “ensure a seamless management of our portfolios and current deal pipeline” while a search to replace Jennings is undertaken.

The team is led by Andrew Jones, the firm’s global head of infrastructure debt. Other members include Simon La Greca, who is based in Sydney alongside Jones, and Patrick Trears in New York.

Trears will be joined in early December by Andrew Liao, who was recently appointed to the New York office.

AMP Capital first invested in infrastructure debt back in 1988 when helping to finance the Sydney Harbour Tunnel. Its first pooled infrastructure debt fund was launched in 1995.

In the summer of 2012, AMP Capital closed a debut closed-ended subordinated debt fund on €400 million. Then, in late August this year, it announced a $300 million first close for its second such fund, which has a target of $1 billion.
