A private consortium in the running for the ‘I-4 Ultimate Project,’ a multi-billion-dollar public-private partnership (PPP; P3) in Florida, has reordered its line-up.
US engineering and architecture firm HNTB Corporation has parted with ‘I-4 Development Partners,’ a consortium led by Macquarie Capital and Obrascon Huarte Lain (OHL), Infrastructure Investor confirmed.
“HNTB made the decision – in the best interest of all involved,” read a statement emailed to Infrastructure Investor by an HNTB spokesman.
Balfour Beatty subsidiary Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) has replaced HNTB as lead designer for I-4 Development Partners.
PB is joining a consortium shortlisted in June for the project, a $2.1 billion P3 to expand a 21-mile stretch of Interstate 4 (I-4) in Florida. The design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) concession is an availability payment contract with a 40-year lease.
