South Carolina Retirement System approves $75m commitment

The US public pension has backed an energy-focused infrastructure fund.

South Carolina Retirement System has agreed to commit $75 million to Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund, according to the pension’s latest meeting materials. South Carolina’s previous infrastructure commitment was $200 million to Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners Fund in February 2019.

The $31.32 billion US public pension has a 0.30 percent target and current allocation to infrastructure.

As illustrated below, South Carolina has made four private equity commitments to infrastructure funds with a 2018 vintage, which combined constitute $539 million.
