Boston-based private equity firm TA Associates announced today the promotion of Michael Wilson to managing director. The firm also promoted vice presidents Jeff Barber and Todd Crockett to principal.
Wilson, a former principal of the firm, will join the firm’s current roster of twelve managing directors, including TA chief executive officer Kevin Landry.
Focused on companies in the business services, financial services and consumer product industries, Wilson currently serves on the board of TA portfolio investments Chartered Marketing Services, EYP Mission Critical Facilities and Numeric Group. He was formerly a director of pet supply manufacturer United Pet Group, which was sold last year for $360 million (€271 million) to a portfolio company of buyout firm Thomas H. Lee.
TA Associates, founded in 1968, manages $6 billion in capital and is currently investing funds totaling approximately $3.5 billion. In November 2004, the firm raised $800 million in TA Atlantic and Pacific V, a non-US investor side vehicle for its $2 billion growth equity fund, TA IX, and a $500 million subordinated debt fund, both of which were raised in 2000.
Earlier this week, the firm made its second investment of the year, a $50 million minority investment in financial technology company C&S Marketing.
