Townsend to invest up to £30m in Temporis UK wind fund

The investment, on behalf of one of its institutional clients, would add to the £30m recently committed by the Strathclyde pension fund.

Management and investment services provider The Townsend Group will invest on behalf of one of its institutional investor clients in sustainable asset manager Temporis’ UK onshore wind fund, Low Carbon Energy Investor understands.

The £75 million ($117 million; €105 million) fund recently received a £30 million commitment from the UK’s Strathclyde Pension Fund. In documents detailing its investment, the Strathclyde pension said there was another investor “currently going through the legals at a level of £25 million-£30 million”. That due diligence process has now been completed and we can reveal the investor to be Townsend.
