TVM names three partners in Munich

Boston- and Munich-based venture capital firm TVM Capital has named three partners in its German office.

The Munich office of life sciences venture capital firm TVM Capital has promoted Chris Cobbold, Annegret de Baey-Diepolder and Axel Polack as partners.
Chris Cobbold joined the information and communication technologies group of TVM Capital in August 2001 as a research analyst, responsible for identifying and evaluating opportunities in mobile communications, internet infrastructure, semiconductors and electronic design automation.
Prior to TVM, Cobbold worked with several mobile network operators, including Telus Mobility where he was an engineering manager. He also previously helped to establish mobile networks in South Korea, Spain and Belgium.
de Baey-Diepolder, a research analyst prior to her promotion, is responsible for identifying opportunities in novel therapeutics. Her main clinical expertise is in the fields of dermatology, allergology and autoimmune diseases, as well as immune, protein and cell therapies.
Polack’s core areas of expertise are molecular oncology and immunology, target validation and gene regulation. He is a member of the board of trustees of the German Vaccine Research Foundation. Before joining TVM Capital in 2000, Polack served three years as general manager of Innovative Technologies Neuherberg, a marketing partner for research institutions, now known as Ascension.
Founded in 1983 under the name Techno Venture Management, TVM rebranded earlier this month as TVM Capital. Since inception, TVM Capital has raised over €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion) in six fund generations and has made investments in more than 230 information technology and life science companies in Europe and the US.
