Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has relocated a long-time UK professional to New York to bolster its US infrastructure business.
The law firm said principal consultant Bobby Stewart will be a member on its transportation infrastructure team and will “assist in the progression” of the North America and Latin America businesses.
Freshfields noted Stewart, a 25-year attorney, is a public-private partnership (PPP; P3) specialist, whose experience in public-private infrastructure mirrored the arrival of the private financing initiative in the UK.
He advised the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure in British Columbia, Canada, on the Evergreen Light Rail Transit (ELRT) project.
Freshfields suffered a blow last September when noted infrastructure head Kent Rowey and fellow partner Dolly Mirchandani departed for ‘Magic Circle’ rival Allen & Overy.
