Hunton promotes CEE specialist

The London office of Hunton & Williams, the US law firm, has promoted Central and Eastern European energy and infrastructure expert Kirk Lovric to counsel. Lovric has been involved in a number of pioneering infrastructure deals in the region.

Kirk Lovric has been promoted to counsel in the London office of US law firm Hunton & Williams. As part of the firm’s international energy and infrastructure team, Lovric spends much of his time in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) where he has advised on many of the region’s leading infrastructure transactions.

Lovric specialises in transport and energy infrastructure in CEE with a particular focus on public-private partnerships (PPPs), independent power projects and oil and gas project finance deals. For example, he advised on the €3 billion Bar-Boljare motorway project in Montenegro and the €650 million Phase 2B Bina Instra PPP motorway project in Croatia.

He has also advised the Croatian and Bulgarian governments on the development of pipelines such as the South Stream pipeline, a gas pipeline transporting Russian natural gas through the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then onto Greece, Italy and Austria.

Bridget Treacy, managing partner of Hunton & Williams’ London office, said in a statement: “This is an area of our business where we see huge scope for growth and we see Kirk playing a key part in this. He really is a leader in infrastructure and energy project development in Central and Eastern Europe.”
