The European Investment Bank (EIB) has appointed Peter Jacobs as the bank’s new head of project finance for Western Europe.
Jacobs took office earlier in May and will be responsible for the bank’s lending to public-private partnerships (PPPs) across Western Europe. He will replace Cheryl Fisher, who has subsequently been appointed head of energy at the bank’s projects directorate unit. Fisher helmed the EIB’s Western European project finance division for more than 10 years.
Jacobs had already been working at the EIB for a decade prior to his appointment, holding various roles, and has been involved in landmark PPP deals like 2007’s Dutch high-speed rail project, linking the north of the Netherlands to the southern border with Belgium.
Prior to his tenure at the EIB, Jacobs worked for 10 years at Belgium commercial bank KBC, where he performed a variety of duties.
