Integrated Team Solutions (ITS), Willow Healthcare Partners (WHP), and Plenary Group are the three bidders that have been shortlisted for the construction of a new, 225 bed long-term care facility in Swift Current, Canada, the government of Saskatchewan said in a statement.
Construction of the facility, which will be awarded as a design-build-finance-maintain (DBFM) concession, is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2014. The facility is expected to be completed by spring 2016.
Members of the three shortlisted consortia include EllisDon Corporation and Fengate Capital Management (ITS); Concert Infrastructure and Bird Capital (WHP); and Plenary Group and PCL Construction Management (Plenary Group).
“We are impressed by the number, experience, and qualifications of the teams that expressed an interest in the project and what this says about the market’s interest in doing business in Saskatchewan,” said Don McMorris, minister of SaskBuilds, an entity created in October 2012 to plan and prioritise the province’s infrastructure investments.
Five groups had responded to the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) sent out by the Cypress Regional Health Authority, the agency that will maintain full ownership of the facility and which also owns the land adjacent to the regional hospital where the facility will be built.
The Cypress Regional Health Authority will also operate all aspects of the direct care provided within the facility, according to the statement.
The winning team is expected to be announced by spring 2014.
