TRS approves $600m in commitments

The US public pension has back three funds that invest in unlisted infrastructure.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas has agreed to commit $100 million to Global Infrastructure Partners’ Infra Investors II, $300 million to Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV Co-Invest and $200 million to First Reserve Fund XIV, a contact at the pension informed Infrastructure Investor.

While Infra Investors II focuses solely on North America, Brookfield and First Reserve invest globally. With the commitment to First Reserve, TRS tops up its initial $200 million commitment to the fund made in May to $400 million.

As illustrated below, the $152.2 billion US public pension has a 6.0 percent target allocation to infrastructure that currently stands at 5.20 percent.
