Credit Suisse, the global investment bank, has appointed Ronan Agnew as head of its financial sponsors coverage for Asia Pacific, where he will lead the business to support its private equity clients.
The firm said in a statement that in his new role, Agnew will be reporting to Paul Raphael, the head of investment banking for Asia Pacific (except Japan), and Harold Bogle, global head of financial sponsors coverage at the bank.
The change in role will see him relocate from the firmās London office to Hong Kong.
Agnew was earlier co-head of the European Financial Sponsors Group at Credit Suisse, a role he assumed along with Didier Denat, the other co-head, in 2006 following the departure of Peter Bacon as head of the European financial sponsor coverage team.
He has been based in London since 2005, and has actively assisted private equity firms in the US and Europe with their investment activities. The firm said he has led a number of transactions and has recently closed deals in the US and a host of European countries such as Germany, Spain, Sweden, Ireland, France and a few others.
Raphael said in a statement that Agnewās transaction experience will be valuable to clients in the Asian region, āwho are increasingly active in some of the industryās defining transactions.ā
Agnew has been at Credit Suisse since November 2000.
