A project finance specialist who has extensive international market experience has joined SNR Denton, a law firm boasting a “growing” infrastructure financing practice.
The firm said Michael Barz left longtime employer DLA Piper to be a partner in its New York-based infrastructure group. Barz, who had been at DLA Piper since 2002, will head SNR Denton's domestic and global infrastructure financing business.
SNR Denton partner Margaret Kavalaris cited Barz as well-versed in energy and infrastructure and “ideally suited to the type of cross-border work that has become the norm” in Central Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
In addition to project finance, Barz is also knowledgeable in public and leveraged lease financing, as well as Islamic finance, having lived and worked in Indonesia.
He is also skilled in a particular infrastructure niche – stadium financing – having worked with professional baseball franchise the New York Mets and the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
Barz is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law in New York.
