Hiring spree at Kiewit

Personnel from Ernst & Young, Macquarie and John Laing have joined the infrastructure developer.

Kiewit Corporation has beefed up its executive staff to keep pace with its “public-private partnership (PPP; P3) investment business in North America”.

Erstwhile Ernst & Young (E&Y) executive Mark Angelos, former John Laing vice president Quirino Pollice and Sam Chai, who worked for Macquarie Capital, have joined Kiewit, a press statement said.

Angelos has been named vice president of origination and development for Kiewit Development Company. Kiewit said Angelos will “work closely” with John MacArthur, president of Kiewit Development Co. With E&Y, Angeles specialised in real estate.

Pollice will join Kiewit Canada Development Corporation, serving as vice president of asset management. In addition to John Laing in Canada, Pollice has worked for Bilfinger Project Investments (BPI), the concessions unit of Bilfinger.

Chai also signed on with Kiewit Canada Development as vice president of project finance. For Macquarie, Chai was a vice president in the infrastructure advisory and development group. He has also worked for Deloitte.

In North America, Kiewit and Macquarie Group in April were selected for a $1.5 billion P3 involving the Goethals Bridge in New York.
