Lime Rock hires energy entrepreneur

Townes Pressler, co-founder of an independent oil and gas producer and former energy banker, has joined the energy-focused private equity firm as a managing director.

Houston, Texas-headquartered Lime Rock Partners hired Townes Pressler as its newest managing director.

Pressler co-founded Houston-based Peregrine Oil and Gas in 2004. His prior experience includes having worked as a strategic advisor for investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, as the chief operating officer for Credit Suisse’s Houston office, and as a managing director for oil/gas corporate financing advisory firm Harrison Lovegrove. Pressler has a BA in economics from Washington and Lee University, and an MBA from the University of Texas.

Lime Rock managing director Jonathan Farber said in a statement that Pressler “has deep roots in Houston and throughout the energy sector. As a senior banker, he has helped leading E&P companies develop their long-term strategy and execute complex transactions. And, as an entrepreneur, he knows from the inside the challenges facing growing energy companies.”

Lime Rock was founded in 1998 and has offices in Houston, Aberdeen, Scotland, Calgary, Canada, and Westport, Connecticut. Its fourth energy-focused fund closed in September on $750 million.
