Nest issues RFP for unlisted infra manager

The UK workplace pension is seeking a manager for one of multiple potential infrastructure strategies.

Institution: National Employment Savings Trust
Headquarters: London, United Kingdom
AUM: £8.0bn
Allocation to alternatives: 10.70%

National Employment Savings Trust has launched a request for proposal inviting fund managers to tender for unlisted or infrastructure equity funds. This will be Nest’s first foray into the asset class.

The workplace pension group has issued a 17 February 2020 deadline for managers to submit pitches. This RFP follows on from Nest’s creation of a private debt mandate in Q4 2019, with private markets clearly high on the agenda for 2020.

A spokesman for Nest told Infrastructure Investor that the pension has identified global, UK-focused and renewables-based strategies as three infrastructure streams it is aiming to invest in.
