Nippon Life to explore infra debt and co-investment

The Japanese insurer aims to expand its overseas infrastructure investments.

Nippon Life Insurance expressed its interest in infrastructure debt and co-investment in North America, Western Europe and Australia.

The insurer will also make unlisted equity investments and in the next 12 months, it plans to commit to five to six infrastructure funds, with commitment size between $30 million and $70 million.

It is targeting all sectors except energy, and will only consider renewable energy on the case-by-case basis.
