The moment has arrived: Polls are open for the Private Equity International Awards 2008, the industry’s only global awards which are decided entirely by the industry itself. There are no shortlists. No editorial strings pulled. Simply a pure popular vote among private equity peers.
Starting today, thousands of readers across the globe will nominate the people, firms and transactions they feel defined 2008 in their region and beyond. Don’t be left out.

This nomination round closes on 31 December.
Anyone may nominate industry people, firms and service providers across the pre-designated categories. (Nominators may only submit one name per category and may not nominate themselves or their own firms, otherwise their votes will be void.)
The people and firms with the most nominations will then be placed on shortlists of five candidates per category – just like the Oscars – for the next and final round of voting, which will close at the end of January.
The final results will be published simultaneously on PrivateEquityOnline and in the Annual Review, our in-depth look at 2008, which will be printed at the end of February 2009 and released with the March issue of Private Equity International.
PEI International Awards 2007: Global winners celebrate
The Annual Review will also reveal the PEI Awards for Global Champions. This ultimate accolade, introduced last year, is a chance to acknowledge the handful of institutions who our voters think have had the biggest impact on private equity globally. You'll have the chance to vote for these categories in the second round.
Winners will also have the chance to celebrate their success in grand style at a June soirée held at London’s spectacular Victoria and Albert museum.
