SCRS confirms $100m commitment

The US public pension has backed Brookfield's record-breaking fourth flagship infrastructure fund.

South Carolina Retirement System has confirmed a $100 million commitment to Brookfield Infrastructure Partners IV, according to minutes from its March 2020 investment commission meeting. The mega-fund held a final close at $20 billion in January 2020.

The $33.50 billion US public pension had a 0.80 percent current and target allocation to private infrastructure as of 31 December 2019. SCRS’s allocation to the asset class has quadrupled from 0.20 percent in December 2018.

As illustrated, SCRS has made four known commitments to infrastructure vehicles, which combined constitute $570 million.
