Caldwell Boudreaux Lefler (CBL), a Houston-based law firm which specialises in the oil and gas pipeline industry, has expanded its liquids pipeline practice with the addition of Henry May Jr., who has joined the firm as special counsel, CBL said in a statement.
May brings extensive regulatory and transactional experience to the firm having spent four decades at Vinson & Elkins where he headed that firm’s energy regulatory practice for more than 20 years before retiring in January.
“We are delighted to enlist Henry’s deep understanding of the natural gas industry and his wealth of experience in handling regulatory challenges,” CBL partner and co-founder Michelle Boudreaux said.
In addition to representing clients in various transactions – such as a joint venture to construct and operate a large cross-border pipeline project to serve the northeastern US, as well as a jointly-owned pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico to serve peninsular Florida – May has also represented natural gas companies in developing new policies at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
