Germany’s Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Stephen Paine as global head of infrastructure and utilities.
Paine will join Deutsche Bank from Swiss rival UBS, where he spent over 20 years and was most recently global head of infrastructure, power & utilities.
The move will take place once Paine has completed a period of gardening leave. He will be based in London and will report to Karl Altenburg, co-head of corporate finance EMEA, and Paul Stefanick, global head of investment banking, coverage & advisory.
In a joint statement, Altenburg and Stefanick said: “In this newly created role, Stephen’s unique sector expertise and track record of success will help deepen Deutsche Bank’s holistic advisory capabilities for our infrastructure and utilities clients.”
In his previous role, Paine worked on financing, privatisations, advisory, M&A and equity raising transactions in the power, utility, post, logistics, rail, road, port, PFI/PPP and airport sectors.
