International law firm SJ Berwin has added a second lawyer in a month to its energy and infrastructure practice with the hiring of Stuart Jordan as a partner.
Jordan, a London resident, is skilled in engineering and construction procurement and has experience working in Russia and the Middle East. He has worked for Greenberg Traurig Maher, another law firm, where, in addition to energy infrastructure, he also handled transportation.
SJ Berwin has hired nine senior personnel in 2012, including energy and infrastructure co-head Neil Upton. The latter was hired to “lead the development” of the energy and infrastructure team alongside group co-head Elaine Gibson-Bolton.
Upton, who also joined SJ Berwin from Greenberg, has worked in the past for law firms DLA Piper and White and Case. SJ Berwin said Jordan and Upton will be supported by an associate team of Sashma Maharaj, Steven Mackay and Elizabeth Mungara.
SJ Berwin has been making an effort to expand its energy and infrastructure business line. In July, the firm hired Rinku Bhadoria from Clifford Chance, Mark Hoyle from Al Tamimi and Michelle Thomsen from Babcock & Brown to boost its infrastructure and energy practice.
