In Q4 2021, Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has confirmed a total of $275 million in commitments across its infrastructure funds.

Following a board meeting in late October, the institution announced the following commitments: $100 million to Fundamental Partners IV, $100 million to IFM Infrastructure Debt Fund and $75 million to Proterra Credit Fund II – all within its $15.8 billion income portfolio.

TRS has an existing relationship with Proterra Investment Partners, with Proterra administrating $50 million of TRS assets. A new investment relationship has been established with two institutions, Fundamental Advisors and IFM Investors.

The $63.6 billion pension invests in infrastructure out of its 15.4 percent real assets portfolio. The public pension’s recent fund commitments have mainly focused on unlisted equities across North America.
