The Institutional Limited Partners Association has appointed Michael Mazzola as its interim chief executive, following the resignation of Peter Freire in June.
Mazzola has been a member of the ILPA board for five years and was chairman from 2012-2015. Since then he has been ILPA's nominating committee chair and was the member advisor for the first CIO Symposium held in June.
He recently retired from his role as head of alternative investments at insurance company MetLife, where he was responsible for a global portfolio of limited partnership investments and US mid-market private debt.
Jennifer Choi, ILPA's managing director of industry affairs, has been managing day-to-day operations since Freire left.
