Linklaters poaches Freshfields partner

Leading law firm Linklaters has hired Brian Gray from rival law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, as it looks to strengthen its offering to private equity clients.

Leveraged finance specialist Brian Gray has left Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to join the London office of rival law firm Linklaters.

Gray specialises in public-to-privates, infrastructure deals, securitisation bridges, opco-propco deals, consortium LBOs, and regulated industries like water and life insurance. He will report to Robert Elliott, Linklaters’ global head of banking.

Gray joined Freshfields in 1999, and has been a partner at the firm since 2002. He trained at Wilde Sapte from 1992 and qualified into its asset finance and banking teams.
