Leonard Forman is the latest former media and government professional to join the Veronis Suhler Stevenson board. Forman will join ten media professionals already at VSS.Â
Veronis follows rivals Dubilier, The Carlyle Group and Highland Capital Partners in hiring media talent to assist with their investments.
Forman was previously chief financial officer and executive vice-president at the New York Times Company. He currently serves on two boards as an non-executive director: information providers and publishers, Wolters Kluwer, and TechTarget, a web-based media company.
Forman started his career at the New York Times Company as chief economist and director of planning in 1974, a position he held for 12 years.
He has a PhD in economics from New York University.
On 4 May Dubilier hired managing editor of the Philadelphia Enquirer Anne Gordon. Last year The Carlyle Group hired former Time editor-in-chief Norman Pearlstine, and in 2000, former Wall Street Journal and Boston Globe journalist Jon Auerbach joined Highland Capital Partners.
